- It’s been a bad few weeks for the 100 Thieves CS:GO team and things don’t look like they’ll be getting better any time soon as they are set to miss yet more international tournaments.
The official debut of the 100 Thieves Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team was one of the most highly anticipated in the game’s history but it never materialized.
Centered around the core of the disgraced ex-Immortals team that took second place at the PGL Krakow Major, the 100 Thieves team was supposed to be a redemption story for Vito ‘kNgV-‘ Giuseppe and co.
Unfortunately, visa issues meant that the team were forced to sit out the ELEAGUE Boston 2018 Major, dashing the hopes of thousands of fans.
To make things worse, kNg failed to learn from his mistakes of the past and once again got into trouble for comments made on Twitter. Those comments resulted in him being kicked from 100 Thieves before ever playing an official match.
For his ex-Immortals teammates, Henrique ‘HEN1’ Teles and Lucas ‘LUCAS1’ Teles, the faith that they put in kNg to behave himself appears to have been misplaced, and they will continue to feel the knock-on effects of that for months to come.
Numerous reports and sources claim that the Brazilian team, who are yet to find a replacement for kNg, will now be missing both the IEM Katowice and StarLadder StarSeries i-League S4 qualifiers that they were due to competing in.
Due to being stuck in Brazil and having no fifth member, the news is hardly surprising but will still come as a disappointment for fans that were hoping to see them in action for the first time in months.
According to a report from HLTV, Rise Nation’s up-and-coming American roster will be replacing 100 Thieves in the StarSeries qualifiers.
However, the general consensus is that ESL will be unable to find a replacement for them in the Katowice qualifiers due to the late nature of the news.
